However, if you have gained extra weight, and it is showing on your face, then you can work towards reducing it. Drink Plenty of Water

Water retention is the major culprit when it comes to a chubby face. If you do not drink enough water, your body starts retaining water. Most of this retained water stays in your face, making your eyes and face look puffy and fat. Water retention also causes your hands and feet to swell. Drink at least 8 glasses of water daily to prevent water retention in your body due to dehydration.

If you are having problems in drinking 64 ounces of water a day, keep your body hydrated by eating more fruits and vegetables. Water is the major component of fresh fruits and vegetables. They are also rich in vitamins and minerals which are good for your health and skin.

Eliminate alcohol

Excessive drinking habits can also cause your face to swell and look chubby. Alcohol consumption leads to dehydration, which in turn causes water retention and facial puffiness. So if you are trying to lose weight from your face, eliminate all alcoholic beverages from your diet immediately.

Consume foods rich in calcium

Calcium plays a key role in reducing water retention in your body, which ultimately diminishes puffiness and bloating in your face. Consumption of calcium also results in loss of body fat. All dairy products (milk, cheese, yogurt etc) are rich in calcium. Other calcium-rich foods include fortified cereals, sardines, soybeans, tofu and dark leafy greens like spinach, kale and collard greens etc.


One of the simplest ways to reduce fat from your cheeks is to smile. Smile both with your teeth bared and concealed, holding each position from 5 to 10 seconds. Do this exercise five times a day. This will tighten up your facial muscles and reduce fat.
