People have their own personal myths attached with personal training. Most of us have ridiculous ideas about how a personal trainer works with us and how that can impact our fitness and health altogether. This is also the reason why we are moving far away from how training should be done. In order to bridge this gap, here are a few myths which we all need to get rid of.
Trainer Knows it All
Not all trainers are what they seem to be. What people do is that they base all their training exercises on whatever the trainers ask them to do. That is not the right way to go about things. In fact, you need to keep up to date on every supplement, pill or workout equipment that is available in the market.
This will help you train perfectly and just the way you want to. However, you need to be committed to yourself. If you do want to work with a trainer then you need to find someone who you can trust and who already has a background of helping people maintain peak fitness.
Trainers always have Six Packs
It might come as a shock to you but trainers are just like us human beings who would not sacrifice delicious food only to remain fit. They also tend to have their urges to eat something sweet and not eat broccoli. How do you think they maintain such a nice body throughout the year?
Make it clear, not all need to have six packs. What matters is physical fitness and how you lie under the perfect weight. They push you to limits where you shouldn’t be going and that is not right. The perfect example could be of Rafael Nadal, or maybe Cristiano Ronaldo. They have their coaches, but can their coaches do what they can do? Not at all. Yet they push them to extremes because they want to see a positive final outcome.
Trainers are Paid a Salary
Biggest misconception which resides in us is probably the fact that we think that trainers are paid a salary. Maybe 10% trainers in the world are paid a salary, the rest are relying on the amount of clients they get in a month. They get paid when they work and it is more of a wage than a salary.
Therefore, a trainer will always go the extra mile whenever he/she gets a new client. So in order to show results, sometimes they push you to places where you probably shouldn’t be going.
